ABOUT THE APPLOUS MIXED SELECTION

This selection of wines include 4 bottles of each of the three Applous wines:

 

4 BOTTLES OF APPLOUS SAUVIGNON BLANC 2024
WINEMAKING Grapes were harvested at optimum ripeness, destalked, pressed and vinified separately. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks over a 20 day period. Wine is the racked blended, stabilised and bottled.
TASTING NOTES Light bodied refreshing Sauvignon blanc with aromas of passionfruit, guava and green bell pepper, followed by a long fruit finish.
FOOD PAIRING This wine will pair well with sushi, Paella or grilled chicken dishes.

 

4 BOTTLES OF APPLOUS ROSÉ 2023
WINEMAKING The grapes were harvested at a sugar level of 23 balling, destemmed, crushed and immediately drained at the press. Free run and press juice was kept separately and cold fermented. After fermentation the components are blended to ensure the perfect balance, to the final product. Wine is then fined, stabilised, filtered and bottled.
TASTING NOTES A refreshing Rosé with elegant notes of raspberry, pomegranate and cherries with a lingering pithy finish on the palate.
FOOD PAIRING This wine will pair well with sushi, Paella or grilled chicken dishes.

 

4 BOTTLES OF THE APPLOUS SHIRAZ | CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2023
WINEMAKING Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were picked at optimal ripeness levels. Shiraz first and than Cabernet Sauvignon 2 weeks later. Vinified separatley in stainless steel tanks, malolactic fermentation in tank, racked off its lees there after and stored. After several trial blends the best combination of both cultivars for the blend was chosen. Blending and preparation for bottling took two weeks and then bottled.
TASTING NOTES A smooth and rounded red blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, showcasing alluring aromas through an abundance of black an red fruit and spicy pepper undertones. Ripe tannins add a balanced elegance to this wines finish
FOOD PAIRING Juicy braaied rump steak smothered in a wild mushroom sauce or a beef tenderloin with blackberry dressing.
